Our Approach

Every site has a memory.
We listen for it.

Our work begins with the ground we're given — its slope, soil, drainage, history, and the particular quality of its light. We design slowly, in pencil before software, and we test ideas against the way a place actually moves through a year.

The result is a landscape that doesn't announce itself, but settles in — and improves with time, weather, and use. A garden in its tenth season should look more itself than it did in its first.

We work on a small number of projects each year, and we stay involved well after the install. The land keeps moving; we like to be there when it does.

Client Voices

What Our Clients Say

Working with Madison Landscape Company was the best decision we made in our whole renovation. They saw the property's quiet potential and patiently brought it out — season by season. The garden has only gotten better.

Connie W.

Sun Prairie

They guided us through a full backyard rebuild — stonework, planting, lighting, the whole lot — and made it feel calm and inevitable. We trust them with anything outdoors now.

Mark + Jeri S.

Madison

We came to them with two acres and no idea what to do. They listened, walked the site through three different seasons, and gave us back a landscape that feels like it has always been there.
